Chicken Shawarma Rice

But if you are looking to try something new and tasty then please must try this recipe of Shawarma rice that I am sharing below.
My kids just love love love this dish.
- Boneless Chicken 500g
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Chilli sauce 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Mustard Paste 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic Paste 1 tsp
- Tandoori masala or Tikka Masala 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Yogurt 2 tbsp
- Rice 2 cups
- Chicken stock cubes 2
- Sabut garam Masala (1 cinnamon stick, 2 cloves, 1/2 tsp cumin, cardamom pod, whole black pepper 4,5)
French Fries, Garlic Sauce, Cole Slaw or Fresh Salad
Cut chicken in small pieces and marinate in Red chili powder, Chilli sauce ,Turmeric powder ,Mustard Paste, ginger garlic paste,Tandoori masala or Tikka Masala , Lemon juice,Oil 2 ,Yogurt and Salt for 2-4 hours.
Put marinated chicken in a pan and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, till chicken gets completely cooked.
Make french fries and Fresh Salad.
Deseed 1 cucumber and cut in julienne, deseed 2-3 green chilli and cut in thin strips, and thinly slice 2 onions. Dip these three ingredients in 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 tsp salt and put it in fridge to make the pickle for Shawarma.
Garlic Sauce Recipe
Take one medium potato and cut and boil it with 3-4 garlic cloves, put boiled potato and garlic in food processor with 2 tbsp mayonnaise, 2 tbsp yogurt, salt, pepper, red chilli flakes and a few drops of sesame oil and blend well and make a puree. You can increase or decrease the quantity to adjust the taste.
Cole Slaw Recipe
Cut 1/4 cabbage in very thin strips and mix with 3/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 tbsp lemon juice,1 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper and refrigerate.
Take 2 cup good quality basmati rice and soak for around 1/2 an hour. Take oil in a pan and put 6 tbsp oil in it, add sabut garam masala and let it splutter, add 2 and a half cup water in that and bring it to boil. Add chicken cubes and let those dissolve. Now drain the rice and put in this boiling water. Cook on medium heat uncovered for 7 minutes, then stir gently with a spoon, close the lid and cook covered on very low heat for 20 minutes.
How to Serve
Take a serving Platter and place a layer of chicken at one side, then rice, then french fries, then cole slaw (if using) then garlic sauce, then pickled vegetables, then fresh salad and serve. You can omit or add anything that you want.
