Desi Chinese Masala Fried Rice
Desi Chinese Masala fried rice is an essential part of Chinese buffets in Pakistan. It is a spicy version of fried rice and you can make it with chicken or without chicken. Today I made this dish without chicken. I am not sure if this dish is even remotely related to China but these rice taste really good. My rice got a bit softer today than I wanted but the dish tasted really good. I made these with Chicken Manchurian.
- 2 cups rice, boil with a pinch of yellow color
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp All Spice Powder (Garam Masala)
- 1 Carrot (Chopped )
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 cup chopped Cabbage
- 1 Capsicum (Chopped)
- 2-3 Sprigs of Spring Onion (Optional)
- 4-5thinly Sliced Green Chillies
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 3 tbsp Oil
Put a pan on the stove and add oil in it. Pour lightly beaten egg in the oil and stir it quickly. Remove egg from the oil and keep aside.
Fry ginger garlic paste and then add chopped onion, stir a little and add carrot and rest of the vegetables. Fry for one minute and add garam masala, soy sauce and black pepper powder in it.
Now add boiled rice to the vegetable mixture, also add the egg and mix well.
Cook covered on low flame for 5-7 minutes and serve with the Chinese dish of your choice.
